Jennifer Lopez makes a triumphant return. The American star has unveiled one of her most meticulously crafted projects. After several years away from the spotlight, the versatile artist from New York is back with ‘This is Me… Now,’ a trilogy that includes the film released on Prime Video, an album, and a concert tour scheduled for the summer of 2024.
‘This is Me… Now’ picks up from ‘This is Me… Then,’ JLo’s 2002 studio album. Over two decades later, JLo pays homage to herself with this trilogy, aiming to showcase how her professional life and love relationship with Ben Affleck, whom she reunited with after 15 years, have evolved. Jennifer Lopez is ready to share a lifetime of experiences with us.
The stars of ‘This is Me… Now: A Love Story’
For over an hour, fans of Jennifer Lopez can enjoy a film where she stars alongside Ben Affleck. The artist from the Bronx aims to do more than share her life story. She seeks to create a narrative, giving context to her personal growth, both professionally and sentimentally, in a relationship that resumes after 15 years apart.
The couple began dating in the early 2000s. In fact, they were a day away from saying “I do” at the altar. However, they didn’t go through with it and went their separate ways. Ben Affleck moved on with Jennifer Garner, and JLo with Marc Anthony. But, as fate would have it, they found each other again 17 years later. This reunion is one of the central themes of the film arriving on Prime Video.
“I was nervous at first, but I went there on the first day and said, ‘This is a mission.’ We did ‘This is Me… Then’ 20 years ago, and now we’re doing ‘This Is Me… Now.’ This miracle has happened, a second chance. And I would love to capture this moment in time in the way that album captured that moment in time,” the artist revealed to the Diego Union Tribune.
Joined by artists like Post Malone, Sofia Vergara, Fat Joe, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, and Keke Palmer, the couple once again invites us to explore a series of events that stretch from the turn of the century to the present day, all under the direction of Dave Meyers.
When does ‘This is Me… Now: A Love Story’ premiere on Prime Video?
‘This is Me… Now: A Love Story’ premieres on Prime Video this Friday, February 16, alongside the album, which will be available on the same date. The presale for the ‘This is Me… Now’ tour in the United States starts on February 20.
