One of 2023’s TV smash hits was ‘Daisy Jones & The Six,’ the adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel that narrates the adventures of a music group in the 1970s—a time when rock music was at its zenith, and the era’s new bands were beginning to turn into today’s legends.

If you carry on reading, you’ll find a major spoiler for the season finale. If you’d rather find out for yourself, we recommend heading to Prime Video to revel in ‘Suicidal Rock and Roll,’ the tenth and final episode of season one. However, if you’re just looking to refresh your memory or prefer to skip directly to the final episode without watching the series… proceed, this is just for you!!

How does the final episode of ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ end?

This final chapter takes us to Chicago, potentially the next and possibly final concert for ‘Daisy & The Six.’ Emotions run high within the band amid a love triangle that Camila wishes to resolve as soon as possible. Billy denies anything beyond a kiss with Daisy, but Camila knows there’s a special connection between them, much like the one Billy shares with her.

In a moment of weakness, Daisy and Billy fall back into old habits: drugs and alcohol return. Billy, who had remained sober throughout the season, succumbs to his addictions anew. And Daisy, having just lost her sobriety role model, also realizes the harm their love-hate relationship is causing her. It’s then that Daisy understands the band’s journey has ended, and it’s time for her to recover from her addictions, with Simone’s help.

In this final episode, Karen also ends her relationship with Graham for good. Despite their love story, an unwanted pregnancy leads her to realize she does not want to become a mother. After having an abortion, she tells Graham she can never give him the life he wants, and they part ways.

Meanwhile, Eddie confronts Billy about the incident in Pittsburgh, leading to more personal matters, including a brief fling between Camila and Eddie at the start of the series. The confrontation escalates into a physical altercation, and it’s Warren who convinces the bassist to stick with the band.

With the group in tatters, they deliver their best concert ever. Billy introduces all the members but subtly puts an end to Eddie, who realizes he will no longer be part of the band. The complicity between Daisy and Billy is palpable, but she acknowledges the mutual damage they inflict on each other and asks him to go back to Camila. Billy, recognizing Daisy as another addiction and Camila as his salvation, aims to get back together with his partner. Camila, having packed her bags to leave forever, decides to give him a second chance.

The mysterious reporter unveiled

‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ has a documentary format, with the band’s former members recounting their adventures decades later to a mysterious journalist, who, by the way, knows how to ask the right questions. In the end, their identity is revealed: it’s Julia, the eldest daughter of Billy and Camila, the little girl seen throughout the series who is now an adult, seeking to uncover the life story of her parents and the group.

The story takes a sorrowful turn when we learn that Camila has passed away at some point between the band’s dissolution and the documentary’s airing. Her daughter interviews her, providing a different perspective on the band, a unique angle, and a message for her beloved Billy and her friend Daisy, with whom she hasn’t spoken since the events in Chicago.

Before her death, Camila reflects on her wonderful marriage to Billy and records a final video urging Billy to seek out Daisy, with whom she acknowledges he shares a special connection. Billy, who loves Daisy as much as he loves Camila, is seen knocking on his former bandmate’s door in a finale that serves as a perfect capstone to the series’ first season.

Now, with a yearning for more ‘rock & roll,’ we eagerly await a second season. Something to make our hearts throb again, just like Chicago did in that last concert of ‘Daisy & The Six’ in the late seventies.
