So, in Season 2 of Reacher on Prime Video, things have gone from bad to worse for the four survivors of the 110th Special Investigations Unit: Neagley, Dixon, and O’Donnell, along with Reacher himself.
They even consider asking for help from Roscoe Conklin, the officer from Margrave, the small Georgia town where the first season of ‘Reacher’ takes place. However, despite the fact she is mentioned during the seventh episode, the policewoman for whom Reacher almost stayed put, does not appear in the second season of the Prime Video series.
In fact, Karla Dixon, Reacher’s somewhat more than a companion in the adventures of the second season, asks who the young officer is when the team suggests asking for her help. And her face after seeing Reacher’s reaction is more than enough to understand what Roscoe means to the hero of the series.
Bad news for Roscoe Conklin fans
In the Reacher books by Lee Child, Roscoe Conklin, one of key people in the first season of the series, does not reappear. If, then, the series follows the story faithfully, we will not see Willa Fitzgerald playing the officer from Margrave again.
Alan Ritchson, the actor who plays Jack Reacher, has a different opinion about Roscoe’s return: “I would do it, for sure. I would be a big fan of that. I think we should. I think we should at some point. They were too good. We’re building a world here, and even though this is an anthology, being able to remind the audience that this is a real journey he has undertaken and there are some people who are still there, I think it could be a lot of fun. Yes, I hope we can do it at some point.”
Good news, also, for Roscoe lovers
Oscar Finlay, who does not appear in Bad Luck and Trouble, the Lee Child book on which the second season is based, does have a small role in the fourth episode of the season.
His return occurs because the 110 travels to Boston to locate Malcolm Lavoy’s legislative director, David Boyd, who was attending the Boston symphony. They want to discover the link between a program New Age is working on and the Department of Defense, called Little Wing.
Dixon meets Boyd and they head to a car, where she offers him drugs to set a trap. Finlay arrests Boyd for drug possession and allows Reacher and O’Donnell to interrogate him about Little Wing, posing as special agents. Reacher thanks Finlay for his help, and they part with the promise to help each other in the future and keep in touch.
After this role for Finlay, why not think about a possible return of Roscoe Conklin? Now that we know she does not reappear in Lee Child’s book series, let’s trust the writers of the acclaimed Prime Video series for the return of the astute officer from Margrave.
