Following the massive success of ‘The Terminal List’ on Prime Video back in 2022, Jack Carr’s book saga will get a second chance on the platform with the renewal of a new season and the premiere of ‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf,’ a fiction centered around the character of Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch).
If you continue reading this article, you will encounter some spoilers from the first season. Don’t proceed unless you’re happy about that…
Is ‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’ a Prequel or Sequel to ‘The Final List’?
It’s a prequel. This is pretty clear since Edwards dies at the hands of Reece in the final episode of the first season, just as it happens in the book, after being revealed as the last loose end on the protagonist’s list.
The new fiction created by Jack Carr and David DiGilio, will be set five years before the original series. It will be a spy thriller that narrates Ben Edwards’s transition from Navy SEAL to CIA agent. In contrast to the novels, where Edwards is a secondary character, in the Prime Video series his role is crucial, being Reece’s greatest ally and later enemy.
Will Chris Pratt Be in the ‘Dark Wolf’ Prequel?
However, this prequel has received Jack Carr’s blessing, so we can expect it to delve into Edwards’s personal life and his descent into the hell of corruption and national and international espionage. Chris Pratt is also expected to appear, reprising his role as James Reece and his family, which meets a tragic end involving the CIA agent.
“The character of Ben Edwards envisioned by the writers of the first season of ‘The Terminal List’ was much more nuanced than the one I had created in the novel,” explained Jack Carr, who also praised Kitsch’s performance: “Once Taylor Kitsch brought him to life on screen, he elevated Ben Edwards beyond all expectations.”
Will Tom Hopper Play Raife Hastings in ‘Dark Wolf’?
This will presumably be the debut of Hopper in his role as Hastings, which he will also reprise for the second season of ‘The Terminal List.’ Another who might also make a return is Jared Shaw, who played Boozer in the first season of the series.
