Belly’s Indecision Between Conrad and Jeremiah

The perennial question: Conrad or Jeremiah? Belly Conklin, once the proverbial ‘ugly duckling’, now faces a choice between two of the most sought-after bachelors at Cousins Beach. On one side is Jeremiah, the younger Fisher brother, with whom the flames of love have been kindled after recent encounters. On the other side is Conrad, her first love, now a fading memory.

The decision seems clear, at least for now. Recent events and Conrad’s behavior have been the final straw for Belly. Her heart belongs to Jeremiah. Everything became clear one night at a motel with the two brothers, marked by hours of tension, with her in bed and them, symbolically, on either side on the floor.

A Timely Retreat Could Be a Victory for Conrad

Jeremiah takes a cautious stance, and it is Conrad who loses his composure after witnessing a kiss between the two. His accusations wound both his brother and Belly. Jeremiah doesn’t want to be let down by her again and asks Belly to clarify her feelings.

And Belly decides she loves Jeremiah and that Conrad must exit her life, at least for now. The next morning, Conrad, having lost his mother a month ago, accepts defeat. He leaves his car to the new couple and departs, not before letting Belly know he still loves her.

As Belly “evicts” Conrad from her heart, Jeremiah attends his volleyball trial, a happy ending for the new couple in contrast to Conrad’s solitude. After losing his mother and suffering heartbreak, Conrad will have to mature and return stronger in the near future.

This is not the end, just a continuation of a story that will unfold in a third season on Prime Video, following Jenny Han’s ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ series.
