This Wednesday, Prime Video is set to launch one of the most anticipated science fiction series in recent years.
Following the smashing success of game adaptations like ‘The Last of Us’, ‘Fallout’ arrives on our screens. Based on the iconic game from the nineties and the first two decades of this millennium, the series transports us to a reality where the world is no longer as we know it.
Civilization crumbled two centuries ago after the Great War between China and the United States. While above ground, in the Wasteland, it’s every man for himself, a few privileged individuals were able to find refuge in shelters created by Vault-Tec.
One of these lucky ones is Lucy (Ella Purnell), the daughter of one of the most beloved figures of Shelter 33. Her father is Supervisor Hank (MacLachlan), the person in charge of their dwelling.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) for Lucy, she must venture outside to carry out a mission. Forced to leave the comfort of her shelter and her family behind, she faces new adventures and dangers. The year is 2296, two hundred years have passed since the devastating war between China and the United States, and the Wasteland is where ‘Fallout’ unfolds.
Who is Ella Purnell, the Star of ‘Fallout’?
The young actress is known for her roles in films such as ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ and ‘Army of the Dead’. Despite her youth, she has also been part of significant projects like ‘Maleficent’ and ‘The Legend of Tarzan’, alongside notables such as Margot Robbie and Tim Burton.
Her most prominent role to date is Jackie Taylor in ‘Yellowjackets’, one of the most successful series in the United States in recent years.
Although she began acting at a young age, Purnell does not come from a family of artists. Her parents, who are divorced, had vastly different professions, and she grew up between two families.
Her mother was a flight attendant accustomed to traveling. Along with her grandfather, Purnell would join her on many of her airborne adventures. What’s more, her father’s partner is Swedish, leading to frequent trips to Stockholm with the family.
