We’ve got a fresh look at ‘Fallout’, Prime Video’s big bet for 2024, aiming to make a splash with this new science fiction series rooted in the iconic gaming franchise.

The series offers a post-apocalyptic vision of the world, a reality extending beyond the years covered in the game narratives. It’s set 200 years after the events that triggered the Great War between China and the United States, which obliterated the world as we know it.

We’ll have three (or maybe four) main protagonists

It seems we’ll have three main characters at the series’ outset. The first is Lucy (Ella Purnell). The young woman is tasked with venturing outside one of the Vault-Tec shelters, where she has grown up safe and under rules that, unfortunately, really, really, don’t apply outside.

In the Wasteland, she’ll encounter various dangers and intersecting rivalries. As a vault dweller, she’ll be a target for factions battling for power on the surface. One of her likely allies is Max (Aaron Moten), a member of the Brotherhood of Steel committed to avenging wrongs from his past.

The third protagonist is ‘The Ghoul’ (Walton Goggins). At the trailer’s start, we see his past as the face of Vault-Tec, selling the safety of the shelters. After the bombs dropped, he was powerless to save his family and became a sentient ghoul. Now a bounty hunter, it’s uncertain if he’ll be Lucy’s ally or enemy—or perhaps both as the series unfolds.

In addition to these three characters, there’s a fourth, a German Shepherd, paying homage to the legendary ‘Dogmeat’ from the game series. We eagerly await the ‘War, war never changes’ arriving on our screens April 11th in one of the year’s most anticipated premieres.
